Snowmass Sub Zero
Description
Snowmass Sub Zero is one in a million in terms of his fleece and the propensity of his genetics to produce consistency in fineness. Alpacas are a long ways from being the consistent fiber producers especially in terms of CONSISTENCY of FINENESS in comparison to fine sheep breeds like the Merino. We can produce the fine micron but what about the standard deviation (SD) and coefficient of variation (CV). In many textile applications low SD & CV are as important as low average fiber diameter. For this purpose we need alpacas like SUB- ZERO. His name being representative of this very important number factor in fiber statistics.
Look carefully at his histograms, then look at his sires 6 Peruvian Monarch's. As we list the sons and daughters of both these studs you will see that this trait in these very prepotent studs are HERITABLE! Sub Zero like his sire is also an extremely good looking stud, with a balance and frame to greatly admire along side his truly elite fleece which covers his entire body.
The even more invaluable element for us is that he is completely unrelated to the bulk of our herd being a Full Sollocota lineage!!
Snowmass Sub Zero is co-owned with Ryen & Ursula Munro of Tripping Gnome Farm, Maine, USA
