Description

CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU TO;
Dwight and Debbie Bailey of Seven Springs Alpaca Farm

Snowmass Royal Ruby is more than a treasured true to type pure alpaca (she also shares my birthday). Royal Ruby has an extraordinary dense fine fleece that has proven to be the next step in our breeding of Royal Fine alpaca. Her first cria sired by our leading true to type vicuna style stud, Snowmass Conopa, is simply too incredible for words. The finest of fine and densest of dense. There is a strong and steady growing demand for a line for Royal Fine alpaca that can stand aside vicuna. The demand for the fiber is one however we all know it takes the alpacas that can produce this fiber. Some are playing into this with paco-vicunas but most of these are no where near close to the real vicuna. Most of the paco-vicunas are the out come of poorly bred hybrid alpacas crossed with hybrid vicunas. None the less they are selling these animals for large sums and commendably they are producing fine products from the fiber they harvest. Alpaca breeders that have selectively bred their alpacas for vicuna quality fiber, are receiving a much higher quantity and quality of Royal fine fiber with these types of alpacas verses the paco-vicunas. Alpacas such as Royal Ruby and Conopa are few in numbers and will remain high in demand as they have a source of value in the genetics of their fleece that will never diminish. Her son, a Futurity 2009 winner, will become a leading factor in our breeding program for this very breeding directive, as we release what is to us one of the most important Royal fiber producing females in our program!

Snowmass Royal Ruby is bred to Snowmass Conopa XXX for a June 2010 cria.
